Interview with Eric Foner: Hofstadter and Columbia, 1968

As part of this exhibition, viewers are now able to access an oral history interview with Columbia University history professor Eric Foner that had not previously been available to the public in digital format. In the course of the interview, Foner shares his recollections of Hofstadter during the 1968 crisis, when he was one of Hofstadter's graduate students. The interview was recorded in 1992 by the historian Michael J. Birkner. It is published with the permission of Professors Birkner and Foner, as well as the archives at Musselman Library, Gettysburg College.
